Bio:Professor Qiang Yang received his BSc. degree in Astrophysics from Peking University, MSc degree in Astrophysics, MSc in Computer Science and PhD in Computer Science at University of Maryland, USA.

Since joining PolyU on 1 April 2025, Professor Yang holds multiple roles, including Director of PolyU Academy of Artificial Intelligence, Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer of the University, and half-time Chair Professor of AI in the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.

He is a fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE) and Royal Society of Canada (RSC) and a fellow of IEEE, ACM, AAAI, AAAS, IAPR and CAAI. He was the Founding Editor in Chief of the ACM Transactions on Intelligent Systems and Technology (ACM TIST) and of IEEE Transactions on Big Data (IEEE TBD).

Professor  Badong Chen, Xi'an Jiaotong University, China

National level talents, Yangtze River Scholar

BIO:Badong Chen is a professor at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Xi 'an Jiaotong University and a Yangtze River scholar of the Ministry of Education. In 2008, he graduated from Tsinghua University with a doctorate in computer science. The research fields include machine learning, artificial intelligence, brain-computer interface, and robotics. He has published more than 300 academic papers in internationally renowned journals and conferences, and the papers have been cited more than 15,000 times. More than 30 national invention patents were authorized and 6 academic monographs were published. He was included in the list of top 2 % scientists in the world and Elsevier 's list of China 's highly cited scholars. It won the first prize of natural science of the Ministry of Education, the first prize of natural science of the Chinese Society of Automation, and the young scientist award of the Chinese Society of Automation. He is the director of Chinese Cognitive Science Association and the editorial board member of IEEE TNNLS / TCDS / TCSVT. He presided over the key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the key support projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the key projects of the joint fund, the 973 plan project, the national key research and development plan project and other scientific research projects.

Professor  Hongbin Luo, Beihang University, China

The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars

BIO:Hongbin Luo received the B.S. degree from Beihang University in 1999 and the M.S. (with honors) and Ph.D. degrees in communications and information science from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), in June 2004 and March 2007, respectively.

He is now a professor at Beihang University. From June 2007 to March 2017, he worked at the School of Electronic and Information Engineering, Beijing Jiaotong University. From September 2009 to September 2010, he was a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Computer Science, Purdue University. He has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed papers in leading journals (such as IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications) and conference proceedings. In 2022, he won the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). His research interests are in the wide areas of network technologies including routing, Internet architecture, and space-air-ground-integrated networking.

Professor  Han Hu, Beijing Institute of Technology, China

BIO:  Hu Han is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Information and Electronics, Beijing Institute of Technology. He received his Bachelor’s and Doctoral degrees from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2007 and 2012, respectively. From 2012 to 2018, he carried out post-doctoral research at the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University.

His main research interests include video communications and on-device artificial intelligence. He has published more than 100 papers in IEEE transactions and CCF-A-ranked journals/conferences, such as Nature Machine Intelligence, Nature Communications, IEEE TPAMI, IEEE JSAC, IEEE TMC, ICML and NeurIPS.He has received numerous honors and awards, including the Beijing Youth Science and Technology Award, Young Beijing Scholar, the Second-class Prize of Beijing Natural Science Award (1st contributor), and the First-class Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of the Chinese Institute of Electronics (2nd contributor). He has also won over ten best-paper awards from international journals and conferences, including IEEE TCSVT 2019, IEEE TMM 2023, and IEEE Multimedia Magazine 2015.He has presided over multiple national-level projects, such as the Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Category A) of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (formerly the Distinguished Young Scientists Fund), the National Key Research and Development Program of China, and the Key Project of the Joint Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.He serves as a member of the overall expert group for the 14th Five-Year Key Special Project “Multimodal Networks and Communications” under the Ministry of Science and Technology, as well as a member of several expert groups in the national defense field. He is the Vice-Chair of the IEEE Communications Society Multimedia Communications Technical Committee, and an Editorial Board Member of journals including IEEE TMC, IEEE TMM, and Ad Hoc Networks.
